Who Said? He Said.

Who said my belly could have
  a mind of its own?
Who said heartburn could visit
  me every single day?
Who said nausea could come and
  go as it pleases?
Who said I needed a second
  heartbeat?

God gave me this unborn baby as a
  gift to treasure and raise.
God gave me this child to love and
  teach about Jesus Christ.
God gave me my child to lead
  and learn from.
God said all of that and more; I
  will listen and follow.

God said, "Let there be light."
I had no idea that's what I'd see
  in my baby's eyes.

Thank you! I hope you do. If - I repeat, IF - you give me enough notice, I can try to pay your way one way, so it won't be such a wallet emptier. Also notice the word try. I love you too, sis.

Congratulations on the forth-coming birth of your baby. You will look at your child and love this new little soul with all your heart, then next day more love will flow and so on until you feel that baby has all your love - until the next day - it's unconditional and never-ending - and never stops growing.
Your second heartbeat: that never goes away either - Von

congratulations on receiving such a precious gift ... I am happy to see that your unborn baby already makes its presence manifest in so many ways, especially the "light in your baby's eyes" ... I am sure this makes you forget the less comfortable aspects of your pregnancy ... babies are indeed wonderful spiritual beings, still so close to their source, and if we are attentive and receptive, they remind us of our own source through their amazing presence and unconditional love and joyfulness ...
thank you for sharing such happy news in such a sensitive manner with us,

    maa

Thank you very much! I enjoyed reading your comment, & am glad to see that you enjoyed my poem. The "light" part hasn't happened yet, but I thought of it after I'd written the poem & knew it was the perfect ending. Besides, I highly suspect it will be as I wrote it: "God said, "Let there be light."/I had no idea that's what I'd see/in my baby's eyes."

Thanks for holding such a contest as this one.

Beautiful poem. You got it all right, the symptoms and the grand purpose.

I'm gonna be an ap grandma! Yay!

    Love, "mom"

      mommy!

Thanks! The heartburn is the most annoying! As well as another symptom I didn't mention - peeing when I sneeze! Yeah, the "grand purpose" part has me a bit nervous, because, as a single mom, I can't raise my kid like a dad & mom pair could. I'll do my best & what I can with Christ's help, but I know it's not the same.

    Wait til you have grandkids!

Children are God's gift to us. We teach them all we know. Success is not mesured by how much you learn, but how much you teach those that follow. Good luck, I'm excited (grand uncle) Shaker

This is good!, but no opition number or your name! I think this is very unique, and different. The ending is my favorite and I think that this is great! Good job, and good luck in my contest.

Thank you so much! Lol, the whole thing was your favorite, huh? Mine, too. I really liked this once I came up with it, & it's a poem I won't be scared to share with my baby after s/he is old enough to read it & understand it.

      Thanks again!
