Opened Eyes

Missing image
Awakened between the folds
of boldest, silken slumber
where every silvered hair of slinking flesh
tingled at the touch of
life's unchecked desire,

I heard your voice call, still and soft,
lingering as gentle melody
bringing promise
aloft on chords of moonlight
that streamed down as falls
to wash blinding mire away.

But, night passed
and morning broke
across horizon's arc;

And when you whispered sigh of soul
through listless winds,

and doleful dewdrops rested
on crests of petals
in tear of night's passing,
as poem raised on dotted page
for fingers' feeling,

I wondered did I hear your song
in lasting phrase
upon the movement of bluebird wings,
flitting fresh to brighter day
in time with merry singing--

causing me,
with back lain to grass
and searching face to sky,
to ponder clouded vast--
with arms stretched up to touch
escaping recognition.

But you would bid me dance with dawn
and twirl with daisies,
bending deep, bowing down with breeze
in rays of sun's sweltering
swirl of newness

until I know that you will come to me
with trumpets' flagged announcement
just when evening fades
and midnight's black pronounces
all sight, with light, is lost;

granting me your perfect visage.

I like your use of a "song" to portray the quest for a "perfect visage". You honestly have created a true piece and I congratulate you on your much deserved silver trophy. Hope that you are well. Anthony.

    Remarkable

You a truly a remarkable poet. You writing ranks up there with the great writers in history, I really mean that. I read your work and think this is the stuff they should be doing classes on in college. It is wonderful and beautiful. It touches a persons soul.

beautiful and lyrical lilt to this piece... lovely imagery as well, which is contrasted in places with sharper language that seems to convey a sense of being overwhelmed... an interesting combination... I love the way your poems flow... there is a classic feel to your use of language - very proper and old worldly sounding in places... Quite expert, really! I admire your eloquence!

Inside you eyes of blessed journey
this is majesty is step upon my mountain,
strifing shale to wail in moon glow
    drawing fever wind to sail,
what is poetry inside you eye...

    just wonderful
