Ode to My Dad

Forty seven years in the making
A bond of father and daughter
My heart succombs to tender breaking
Reminiscing his love, his laughter

As the months grew to years

And both our heads sprouted grey

What was once an unheeded fear

Is now reality on a cold autumn day

I miss you and love you, father

I pray that you are happy in the hereafter

One day we shall again meet each other

And rekindle our love in laughter

Lovely poem. Emotion was in each and every word. It brought tears to my eyes. Beautiful.
