this place called Stetson West.
Mammography their specialty,
staff members are the best.
Early detection saving lives,
still working towards a cure.
These people giving of themselves,
their hearts are rich and pure.
I thank them for the work they do
each and every day.
A little pain to save my life,
it's well worth it I say.
So take the time to come and get
a mammogram each year.
Stetson West is where earth's angels
make saving lives a career.

Cara, Thank you for the applauses and your lovely words of praise to me here. I sat waiting that morning and as I thought, this was what came to me. They are angels here on earth and they help save lives every day through early detection. I'm very happy that you enjoyed this and thank you for the congrats also. You're quite welcome for the comment on your work it was my pleasure to read. Love and God bless you, Joyce

A wonderful poetic tribute to those who labor to save lives is offered here with a generous flow and gracious rhymes, soft and easy on the tongue when read aloud. Its flow makes this a joy to read. The people at Stetson West get feedback, of that I am sure, those whose lives are impacted so positively - - but how many poetic offerings show up, not many I’d wager. This message is so very important, it is evidenced by one of the commenter’s saying “the first poem i have EVER read on this topic” Just that comment alone makes me feel good about the contest, blessed that you offered your poem here. Once again, thank you so much for entering; I appreciate your efforts more than you could know.
blessings and best wishes,
~r.

~r, Thank you for the applause and your lovely words of praise. These people deserve so much thanks for what they do and it was the very least I could do for them. The message is most important. Detecting it early saves lives. Thank you for hosting this comp and I thank you for the blessings and best wishes also. Love and God bless you, Joyce

Pam, I don't know why I didn't see your comment when you made it.
Thank you for the applauses and your lovely words of praise. I know that I don't come close to the maestro, so to hear your words it means even more. This was the least I could do for these people who give of themselves every day for others. I was sitting waiting my turn when I just felt the need to thank them. Love you my friend, Joyce

After 5 yrs, I finally scheduled another mammagram. It's easy to feel invincible until the doctor makes that phone call telling you that he needs to see you asap. (I just got one of those and then it made me realize-trouble could be lurking in other places and I'm not even aware of it~lol)
I'm sure these nurses will treasure this poem and post it on their bulletin board. Your have such a special gift of exhortation and you do it so beautifully with the poetic pen.
Best wishes in your contest!~♥ vj

Vickie, Thank you for the applauses and your lovely words of praise. I have been going annualy for some time now and I have had a couple of scares. The call back!!!!! First time it was fibroid, keeping my fingers crossed. We are all human and I pray this will be the same. The ultrasound will determine. I will know this week when I return for it. Early detection is so important. I pray all is well with you and yours and it was so nice to see you here. Your picture is beautiful there.
Love you my friend, Joyce

This poem touches my heart and I hope they get a copy of it at Stetson West. This will bring smiles to the faces of those angels. This is beautiful as is your heart.
Love,
Amera♥

Amera, They have touched my heart and I wrote the poem waiting to go in. I had tucked my copy in my pocket and forgot to post it. I did write out a fresh copy and handed it directly to one of the nurses while thanking her and telling her what it was. You should have seen the smile on her face. The technichian thought I was still filling out my form when she called me in and I told her what I was doing. She couldn't thank me enough either. They are all angels in my eyes. You are too as I know your profession. Oh and my niece just got a job finally after passing her boards in April. She is starting out on the medical surgery floor so she will see a lot of different patients after surgery. She eventually wants to be a nurse in the neo-natal unit though.
Love you my friend, Joyce

Thank you for sharing this one with all of us. My heart goes out to all that deal in this field. It can be so heartbreaking to know that some will not survive and thank you for the link you provided to help fund free testing for those who can't afford it. You have a loving heart. I'm sure the staff appreciated what you did for them. Keep up the great work. The U1

WONDERFUL!!!!
These places have the most wonderful people who are there helping because they want to. One should indeed go and get checked as it may mean a longer more enriched life for them.

Kevin, Thank you for the applauses and your lovely words of praise my friend. They truly do have the most wonderful people working for them. I have never had one bad experience there. As much as we don't enjoy this test it does help to save lives through the early detection. I'm very happy that this spoke to you. You have such a caring heart. Love and God bless you my friend, Joyce

~r, I want to thank you for hosting this and for your lovely words saying you are honored to have my poem here. This was something I felt while I sat there waiting my turn to go in for my exam and seeing the smiles and caring members of the staff. I won't be making changes to this one as this is the finished product. I wrote it for them while there and kept a copy for myself to post here. I had it folded up in a pocket and just pulled it out today. In remembering that this is breast cancer awareness month I went looking for a contest to post it to. My sister visits this same office and they detected her early. She had to have a double lumpectomy and go through some radiation after. I am happy to say that she is cancer free as of this time. They will monitor her more frequently now that she did have this and if it returns they will be on top of things. My heart goes out to these people, they are angels. Thank you for the best wishes also. Love and God bless, Joyce

going, Thank you very much for the applauses and your lovely words of praise. I remember a visit a couple of years ago when I got called back because they had seen something. I was never so scared. It was at that time I notice they had a couple of journals in the waiting area where people had filled in their experiences. I wrote that day and never forgot how good these people were to me or to the others I read about. Sadly those journals were not there this past visit and I had to fill out my poem on a comment slip. I ened up rewriting it on the back of a slip and making a notation to see the reverse side. I personally handed it to one of the on site nurses before I left and she thanked me profusely. Your words have touched me deeply, you are a beautiful person and poet as well. Love and God bless you my friend, Joyce

formulated for those who have heart problems! ask their doctors about it...thanks for letting me share this with you... lovely poem for the ladies at the treatment center, good luck sweet one...MM

Hey sis, Thank you for the applauses and your lovely words of praise. It's good that they can still check you in some way because early detection is so important. We had a scare with my sister this year and she went through a double lumpectomy which was followed up by radiation treatments. A clean bill of health right now. But the thoughts now is it's in the family. I was happy to share this with all and I hope you will visit the site I mentioned to click on the pink ribbon. It is for the underprivileged and if they can get a free mammogram seeing as they can't afford it I am more than happy to click once a day. I'm very happy that you enjoyed this one. Love always from your sis, Joyce
