The Short Impossible Trek

Bullingen 4Km

such a short distance
yet, for all eternity
we will not reach it

our final thoughts
recognition
that we are but
human currency

our blood
the price paid for
covetousness
gluttony
pride

bought and
paid for
millions of
times over

yet,
the defecit
still grows...

I fear
humanity
will never
reach
Bullingen

I'm not sure humanity wants to go to Bullingen!
I'm intrigued by the choice of background an interesting
    juxtaposition with the graphic image.

The poem is a nice extrapolation from the picture

    well done!

    thanks for entering

Powerful write. I liked the ending the best. It made me think of war and how sad it is to think of if there were never and end to war and destruction in the world. The part of human currency also seemed metaphorical. It made me think of how people pay for war by giving their lives sometimes. Good luck in the contest.
