As we awake, in the early morn',
We can see God painting the sky.
As the sun beams over
The hilltops, and mountain peaks,
God spreads its golden rays
To amaze our eyes.
But more than that,
In this quiet moment,
We can see and hear God say,
I love you.
And again, in the fading of the sun,
We can see Gods masterpiece display.
As this glory star dips
Behind, the horizon,
God shows his love for us
And thus he ends the day.
And as I say,
In this quiet moment,
We know what God wants us to hear,
I love you.
But now these quiet times are fading,
We ignore his loving words.
We have stolen his canvas,
And fill it with our own abominations.
Where once there were his grand creations,
Now there are cities, pollution, and waste.
Where we could have heard his grandest symphonies,
All we now can hear is the roar of modern life,
And what a life, when we can no longer listen
Or see our Gods' love for us.
And what a tragedy when many of us,
No longer wish to.
Why have we fallen?
But the sweet serenities are not all gone,
And if we seek them out we can find
The God we have lost.
And here,
In the quiet moments,
God still is heard to say,
I love you.
We can see God painting the sky.
As the sun beams over
The hilltops, and mountain peaks,
God spreads its golden rays
To amaze our eyes.
But more than that,
In this quiet moment,
We can see and hear God say,
I love you.
And again, in the fading of the sun,
We can see Gods masterpiece display.
As this glory star dips

I can see why you won gold for this. It starts out filled with serenity and then goes deeper and is filled with truth. Well thought out and well written.

How true is it that in this so called modern age a time of emancipation we all lost track of what it is to be human and free.
Slave to our own society and its veril ways, so much perdition almost lost onto the unseeing eyes of the masses never even knowing what a tree in the forest looks like.
I feel sadness deep in my heart when I read the words you put to virtual paper for in they end they speak of the unspoken truth.
I like it, I like it so.
