Seven months was not enough,
To hold you in my heart.
All too soon, you left me
Abandoned in the dark.
The time we had was far too short,
There’s so much left to say,
I wasn’t ready to lose you yet,
And still you turned away.
How can those few short months
Be all we’ll ever have?
Standing here alone,
I’ve lost my better half.
My heart still holds the hope
That this isn’t what it seems
That someday you’ll take me back
And this will one day be a dream
But even if I’ve lost you
For forever and a day
I’m grateful for our moments
That quickly passed away
For to feel the joys of love
No matter the resulting pain
Is better than to never gain
Love’s wonderful, brutal stain

Oh wow....that's whats going on and it's so true I love;
"My heart still holds the hope
That this isn’t what it seems
That someday you’ll take me back
And this will one day be a dream"
"Love's a wonderful, brutal stain"
Excellent job.

That's so sad that someone left you. I hope you feel better soon but icould get all sappy about how there is other fish in the sea but i won't. I Like the emotion in this poem great write. Too bad it's about a sad subject.

and i'm glad you didn't go on about other fish in the sea, because if one more person mentions that, i'm going to scream. i don't want other fish. i want my old fish.
