Once there was a cow
A cow named Sona, meaning gold
Sona was not only attractive but also pleasing

Sona's owner was a man named Ramdas
Ramdas would milch Sona every morning and evening
And then he would sell off that milk

Ramdas was very fond of Sona
Sona too adored Ramdas

Time flew by like this
But time never remains the same
One day Ramdas was in deep financial trouble

Ramdas was forced to sell away Sona
Sona was bought by Haridas
As soon as Sona came to know that she had been sold,
She wept bitterly
She became very sad and depressed

When Haridas tied a rope around her neck and
Tried to pull her along,
Sona struggled desperately to free herself and escape
However, as Haridas had held her firmly,
She could not flee

Haridas somehow dragged the unwilling Sona
To his house and secured her to a hook on the floor

Sona's heart was filled with sorrow
She missed Ramdas and she longed to be in his house
She couldn't sleep all night
She tugged frantically to break free of the rope
That was tied to the hook, but could not succeed

Over the next few days,
Sona would always be on the look out for
An opportune moment when she could escape from there
And reach the house of Ramdas
But she could find no such occasion

Many days passed by
One day Haridas untied Sona so that
He could replace the hook embedded in the floor
The cow Sona was now free

She found it hard to come to terms
With her newfound freedom

She looked around warily
No one was around
Haridas was busy hammering
The new hook into the ground

For once Sona felt this was a golden opportunity
For her to get away

She could run off and be with Ramdas
But then it also struck her that she was no longer
As enthusiastic to return to Ramdas
As she was at the time of leaving his house...

Author notes

I don't know how different is the life of ours when we look the truths of love...sometimes we claim that there is no substiture of our love but we change our mates as the life is changed and one should accept it...

An interesting dialogue of love between the animal and the owner. I found it curious that the story was told through the cows point of view. I think this could of been any animal, as persons are very fond of pets.

    Wonderful!

This is a great surprise! One can't but get captivated by the unique storytelling, and by the end, one is as perplexed as Sona. This goes much beyong the usual stories with a convoluted beginning middle and end. Communicates a lot through what is unsaid.
