A morning worthy of making
the dead have dreams of life,
and you sit ensconced,
in a book you never finish.
I reside luxuriating,
in warm sunlight on cold sheets,
and stare at the play of words,
on your countenance.
Deft twists in storylines
bring resonances in your position,
while I recreate poetry
in languid day dreams of you.
Vagrant strands of hair
distract from the deed,
as do I,
the attention starved.
The blanket departs
infinitesimally slowly
as prose meets poetry.
the book set aside,
still unfinished.

Hmmm, this is interesting. Definitely not your typical love poem, which I really like. The unfinished book was a nice touch, I can even relate to that one. Thank you for entering, the ending was great.

Keep it up!

so typical of what can happen when the guy likes to read and you are doing everything you can to get his attentions. "Prose meets poetry" -- great that it ended the way it did.

there are some wordy portions to this... great use of vocabulary, throughout, seriously, but in places it overwhelms me a little, personally... beautiful wording, just a bit advanced, I feel, for the average reader and in places, the larger words seems to interrupt the otherwise smooth flow, if only slightly... well composed, poet... certainly impressive! thanks for the entry! good luck!

You did not follow the contest rules.
