LIFE : A finite succession of infinite opportunities

POETRY : Open sharing of individual ability to channel creative soul-song AWAY from the ego

NOISE :
A signal the individual is unaware [s]he COULD decipher

Through twenty-six pieces of lead
to peace will new world be led

note:  26 soldiers or pieces of lead - the letters of the alphabet. The couplet above is after the motto of William Caxton, the first English Printer.

With twenty-six soldiers of lead
I will conquer the world

Most intriguing. Mine is simply this:
"Mix and match your life; confuse your neighbors."
Thanks for sharing these with us.

    Interesting!

I'd never heard this comment by Caxton before. I really enjoyed reading both his original and your interpretation of it.
I like the connection between letters of the alphabet and soldiers... reminds me of a favorite song by Fall Out Boy - starting with the lines "I am an arms dealer/fitting you with weapons in the form of words". In fact, I have been meaning to make it my author motto.
I enjoyed this short, but rewarding, piece.

I absolutely love the quotation you entered into my contest. The simplicity of the words themselves really took my breath away! A simple one-liner, packed with so much meaning. I am happy you add the other quotes in your author notes. When this contest is over, I will be happy to check out your others (since this is anonmous, I don't know who you are". The "Alpha's Bet" and following quotes are just amazing. You worded them so wonderfully and I can tell they were really thought out. I like your structure of WORD: quotation. You really get your point across to the reader. Your writings impress me. Thank you so much for entering.
