When the world has fallen 'round you
and the soot blackens your face,
and ashen skies replace the blue
in the gloom's embrace,
remember there are those of us
who still have love within,
and our love we will show you thus;
the healing will begin.
This broken world shall sing again,
the streets with shine like gold,
just like the way they did back then,
just like the days of old.
I ask you now to join the throng,
for the healing has started; it won't be long.
Please tell me what you think

Ah, sort of like a great Knight's speech to his men to join him in a great crusade. It take words like this to sometimes bring men to action. Nicely done.

i found this one full of both hope and peace. There is love, of course, but through all of this, your poem is full of hope that we'll be ok. I think it's a powerful write for such a short length. You did a great job, Love

*laughs* We were just debating in English whether "throng" is archaic or not! Perfect timing, Dan! In more ways than one. This is a beautiful sonnet, perfectly written, with a beautiful message in. It's amazing.

Good poem Dan; a lot of truth in it.
Well done.
