From the very beginning I was pulled in
A dark Lord of sensual nightmares.
Taken in the night and loved in deaths embrace.
The dreary smile and lick of lips.
Imprisoned for his pleasure and pain,
Oh how he loved to hear my screams.
Each night to come a little closer
To the evil I grew to love.
Violent eyes and harsh hands,
Yet I still lived and fell a little more
With each sharp used kiss.
The soul within me was slowly drained,
As days and weeks passed, life erased.
Within the night of death I was gifted
For my subdued action in his bed.
Passions to rise out of the eve,
As sun sets and primal greed.
The companion of the night,
His child of sinister deeds.
Devilish within the games we played,
Dominion in the masochism acted.
I am in love with death,
And Ann Rice created him.
A dark Lord of sensual nightmares.
Taken in the night and loved in deaths embrace.
The dreary smile and lick of lips.
Imprisoned for his pleasure and pain,
Oh how he loved to hear my screams.
Each night to come a little closer
To the evil I grew to love.
Violent eyes and harsh hands,
Yet I still lived and fell a little more
With each sharp used kiss.
The soul within me was slowly drained,
As days and weeks passed, life erased.
Within the night of death I was gifted
For my subdued action in his bed.
Passions to rise out of the eve,
As sun sets and primal greed.
The companion of the night,
His child of sinister deeds.
Devilish within the games we played,
Dominion in the masochism acted.
I am in love with death,
And Ann Rice created him.
Author notes
LOL I have to laugh at myself. When I was reading the vampire books by Ann Rice I found myself lost in dreams of dark strangers and pain with pleasure. I have always loved Vampires but the way Ann Rice recreated them for her readers was amazing. Brought to life the world they lived in my dreams. Great contest. This was fun!

Can't you just imagine soaring above the rooftops of Paris with him, hand in hand. I love reading Anne Rice and your words brought hers back to me so vividly.

I read the books and loved Lestat... I was slightly disappointed when Tom Cruise was cast to play him, but he did a decent job. I especially loved the very end when he says, "Have you heard enough? I've had to listen to that for centuries!:"
Amazing piece... definitely a character worth falling for.

I did not think that I would like Tom as Lestat. I read the books first then the movies and I thought in the end he did do a great job. Thanks for the great comment.
