The Path of Life

"Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I-
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference."

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Long and hard this road I travel,
Winding turns and obstacles block my path.
Forever pushing forward, knowing I must go on.
My faith in Him it keeps me moving,
Making my way from dawn till dusk.
Slumbering at night I dream,
A valley peaceful, my paradise.
Your gardens I will tend for you,
Flourish they will, with purity and love.
You are the way, you are my light,
A beacon bright and filled with hope.
I ask that others follow, make this
The road more traveled, come journey-
Journey with me on life's path.
It's not a road that's paved in gold,
There are no silver linings in the clouds.
Though at the end you will find peace,
Happiness within your soul.
The path of life to paradise,
Peace and good will for one and all.
Author notes
My quote is from Robert Frost's, "The Road Not Taken." The lines quoted are the opening stanza for this poem as requested.
      I do love Frost and this is one of his most spiritual guides in my eye. I'm glad you related the same way. I wanted to say what Frost was in a different way as asked for in the contest. I was happy to achieve an Honorable Mention for this. Thank you for the kind words you gave to me. They are greatly appreciated.
    A famous quote that I know all too well, but you made this soft and made the reader develop a kindred feeling of warmth for the author within the words. It is deeply touching and stirring. Love, C
    This is wonderful, I love it! This is penned with such a classic flow and intoneation. The image is vivid and emotional. I love Rbt. Frost too and actually the quote of his that I use on my page is: "I would sooner write free verse as play tennis with the net down." - Robert Frost
    Love,
