In the night,
I feel his eyes
As he watches me
While I sleep.
He sees my dreams,
And understands me;
It’s not an invasion
He is exploring,
Trying to analyze
What I myself don’t understand.
The flaws
He does not mind;
The unexplainable
He tries to figure out;
The unique beauty
He marvels in;
He knows what they are to me
And speaks to me of them
And reminds me about them,
To comfort me,
To keep me sane.
He always looks out for me
Without asking for anything back.
He is my familiar shadow
Always at the edge of my dreams.
