floating on the sodden earth, my clothes have long since drowned,
given up their warmth, their life, into the freezing ground
pounded like a drum my body sinks a little more
watching for the world to end, from here on heaven's floor.
a mighty blow from angry gods tears sharply throught the sky,
mother nature trembles, as i lay and watch her cry
falling in a shaking heap to an almighty roar
just another casualty in an imortals war

i love how you said so much with so little words. i also loved how you related the storm to gods at war. being able to make connections like that makes poems so much more mature, refined, and interesting.
