Hubbub of the Mind

Sweet silence pulses in to eternity,
Its pumping falls lazily upon ears.
The emptiness resonates, as it is wont to do,
Leads the silence in it's altruistic symphony.

The invisible cords pluck at the strings,
An inferno burns in the blackened heart.
Images of a past life beat through the skull,
Tearing at the last threads of sanity.

The cacophony trembles through every crevice,
Wincing as it passes through an exuberant memory.
Trying to find a way into the security of melancholy,
It bustles through the crowded realm.

The laces of din scatter surreptitiously while looking,
Looking for an imperceptible way to find the denouement.
Just as inevitability crashes down on the row,
It falls freely in to a welcome pool of shadows.
