Fingers pounding on pitch black keys
Thoughts that race through timeless hopes
No one knows that I'm a sin, just like you
I"m the infection that spreads through hearts
The demon that lurks in shadowed minds
Everything you thought you could never be
I am selfish, I know no pain, but I know past
That set the world ablaze
Yet I do nothing, I wait for god to catch me
To tell me I am special, that I am sweet
He won't run when my soul retreats
But will I, A coward with no name?
I see colors, glances of worlds
I seek something that millions have
Empty stomachs and shattered dreams
Tear stained faces on ebony cheeks
I notice little in passing days
Can you see me, A painted scream?
I have colors, brilliant shades
Red, white, blue across my frame
I know choices, but no regrets
My eyes are blinded by lust and greed
Whispers spoken, innocent talk
Ignorance is bliss before I speak
So hear my calling, see my plea
These are feelings, truth and lies
Moments captured, lies unseen
I know nothing but one thing
I am hollow, void of hate
My reality is their dream
My pain is their reality
Author notes
I made this poem in the idea of that what pain I go through every day is nothing compared to what others have and go through.
