I love the way you know my thoughts,
And always understand my mind;
You grasp ideas I haven’t said
And concepts I have not defined.
I love the way you smile at me,
As if I were your only friend,
And make me feel as though the time
I spend with you will never end.
I love the way you tease me so,
Till I have no more words to say;
You have a gift with that, you know:
Few others take my words away.
I hate the way you make me love
Each word you say and thing you do;
I do not want to fall in love,
Because I know I can’t have you.

Oh, what a beautifully sad poem!
The longing and yearning are really powerful in this poem.
A splendid poem, dear poet!
