Decision Day.

Missing image

It started with a simple test
they told me I should do
examining my breast I found
a tiny lump or two
A dreadful fear enveloped me
I shook from head to toe
a visit to the hospital so I
would really know
A kindly chap examined me
and put my fears at rest
a "mouse" had come to visit me
and lodged upon my chest
Such caring people cared for me
they told me I was safe
my husband hugged and cuddled me
laid kisses on my face
so those who need to have some faith
I say to you be strong
and do the test as I once did
and live to sing the song.

Your poem is one of love and encouragement and I really do appreciate the tone, the form and flow with its gentle rhymes. Hope is key to recovery, I think, and you offer it so well with the husband’s kisses, the affirmation of love made know through tender contact. It is an important issue often left behind in many messages. Strength comes from there, the contact I mean, when one knows love, a great deal can be endured, offerings of hope, like this one, can flow freely to others in need. I’ve mentioned it before, thank you so much for entering your poem in the contest, I appreciate it so much.

    blessings and best wishes,
    ~r.
