Fading Filigree

Sequestered misty
enraptured dreams
flicker on horizons
far.

Just out of reach
beyond my clouds.
Of vanishing moonbeams
afterglow.

Hidden in a mist
of stardust's gleam
twilit melodies
abound.

In rahpsody
fulfillment filigree
of woven wishes
heart disavows.

Burnt candle's wick
at both ends.
A lesson learned
it will not hold.

No touch, no taste
nor scent unfolds.
Within solaced
dreamless clouds.

WOW. Oh wow. This is such a beautiful poem.

    My favorite stanza was this:
    Burnt candle's wick
    at both ends.
    A lesson learned
    it will not hold.

This poem definitely has the abstract feeling of a dream attached to it and I like the gentle expression.

I could just imagine George Gershwin's "Rhapsody in Blue" playing in the background as I read this lovely piece, Sweetie. Well penned...serene & misty. Good luck in Zayra's contest, my Friend. Wanda
