Lavender petals were her love's array
sprinkling them on their bed
as her way of hinting her desires.
Then one day fate took her away,
devastated husband stunned and grieved.
Waking the next morning to see
petals having been spread in the night,
her spirit still blossoming for him
after her hands forever slept.
