Each eve she languished in her smothering cocoon
precious passion butterfly left without love's gusts
to give her flights in gasping cloudy ecstasy.
Day was a monotonous journey where her withered desire's flower
was kept inside her fractured heart's vase,
praying to find that perfect pair of hands
that might prune her aching rose
and let her cravings blossom in such intense beauty.
Then one lunch hour encounter at a local bistro
he strolled into her life,
an Adonis with mane of black hair,
piercing blue eyes that made their wound in her soul.
His words were so rich and syrupy oozing over her will,
being a lawyer only seem to make his seductive sway
more overpowering and arousing.
Night brought her dreams to writhing reality
while his hands strip away each petal of need
causing such lightning strikes wherever he touched
releasing her butterfly from its imprisoning cocoon.
In the morning he was gone, didn't even leave a note.
Confused and hurt by his deception
only refusing to return to her existence
once set free from her prison she could never go back.
Now she sails the skies of life
finding new throbbing stems to plant in her garden,
while stalking the courthouse halls
in hopes of seeing him once more
unsure if she will have wings of a vixen
or the fangs of a betrayed butterfly
who loves to soar steamy winds,
but never be snared by lie's net.
