The thunder comes
Married to the rain
The trees laden
The wind whistles, cheery, yet lonesome
The thunder comes to visit the earth
And with it the rain
For a few hours, a few minutes
The wind was not alone
Condemned to the world
To brush over mortals
To stir the seas and oceans
To provoke the sands of deserts
To blow through two lovers' hair
To dry a suicidal tear
The wind always works alone
You can hear it
At night it howls through the trees
Insects and animals alike hear the wind
As it whispers it's sorrow
They listen, and cry out
The creatures of the night
But the wind stays alone
When the sun beats down in the morning
The wind stills
Again forgotten
Always alone
But now the rain is here
Married to thunder
To visit the wind
For a few hours, a few minutes
So the wind whistles, cheery but lonesome
Because the wind
Always
Works alone
