lies may seem
cruel, mean
and inhumane
but they are actually
our best friends
lies make us see
we are not naive
more than just
the cute
girl- next-door
they interact with us
become our best companions
atleast they make us feel
like we are not losers
they make us armed
against our true opponents
the truth
truth is so painful
having to accept
is sometimes impossible
but with this wonderful friend
called a lie
accepting is just
a piece of cake
lies keep us sane
from commiting murder
because we think we are not
good enough
so in actual fact
lies are our friends
and the truth
will always be our foe
no matter what

i guess i will have to agree with lee-sharp, it lacks certain sophistication.

great take on the prompt. i only wish the poem was well executed. serious flow issues and lack of sophistication in content.
