A Poem For Poetryality - Silver

Missing image

Dear heart of mine, with whom I’ve danced
with words that rose from ancient pots,
I wish you poems that feed your soul,
songs that strengthen you,
and a million reasons to dance.

We are night and day different and yet
that same mother that speaks to me,
whispers against your sweet cheek
and we have stepped brightly
to trill of heavens calling our names.

Whatever ground you step upon
is hallowed ground, is sand
seeped by bones of our ancestry,
owns half our hearts

and we have been bowed there
at altars of yesterday
borne by need to know answers
and create new beginnings of ourselves.

Come, sister, let me take your hand
but for the moment it takes
to draw new air.  You know I love you,
like breath itself, for the times
you have made music for me.

    My Sister

Now you know you have me in tears over here. This is ever so lovely. The sentiments, the art, the words...My emotions are flying all over the place. You are an Earth Angel, sent from Heaven to help me along the way. I am so pleased with this poem. I will cherish your beautiful words always. I am over-joyed, overwhelmed, and totally elated. You among many, are such a blessing in my life. You make me who I am. You make me write and strive to be the best. We are akin in many ways, our differences simply highlight the hues of God's garden.

I LOVE YOU and I THANK YOU!

    Always ♥

    Renee

And that, my dear Sister, is all that needs be said about the incredible Renee. You have painted her with such loving, lovely colors, my Friend. What a fabulous tribute. Good luck in Mari's contest, Sweetie. Wanda

This is beautiful and far better than most tributes tend to be! It's got a real artistic quality, a sense of unity, of almost a regional feel. It's got sentiment that goes beyond the surface, past the ephemeral.

I really liked your entry, and I'm sure Renee will. I'm glad you entered this poem.

Love this tribute; love the painting. Both speak of freedom, sisterhood, and depth. Beautiful.

    The painting is sooooooooo her!
What a lovely and caring way to let her know how much you like her. I believe that there isn't bigger satisfaction than knowing we are loved.
I particular liked the second stanza.
Thanks for being here and for this beautiful page!

ty, Mari. I have perked this up a little. Funny how I do not see it when I first put it down. I shall miss Renee, to be sure.
