Fenced

With compassion hatred, we harmonize, and set
the siren to vocalize,
a spellbinding hypnotic song
filled with scenes of amber fields of gold
enticing those with lesser skill.

Enchanted by the sound of coin
they gather in their wretched mass,
we pick and choose the familiar ones deny those
that do not feel just right.

Then open three gates of the four and
wave magnanimously, come in, explore.

At the north gate the guard stands fast asleep,
at east and west gates whores spread a welcome greet.

The south gate that's another thing,
the key is lost and hinges rusted shut,
strong valiant guards stand firm supreme.

For from the south come lesser beings
with tails so long they cannot sit
their jibber jabber does not translate
with feet turned backwards
they can’t keep pace.

Armpits hairy oh what a stink,
they have a motley
brownish colored skin,
and worship some three
cornered thing.

That gate I think not strong enough
we must ensure they do not cross
we'll sow two rows of chain link fence
and top them off with the razor wire death.

Oh sure bombs flew down from the north,
and atom bombs could invade the ports,
but those fucking pariahs from the south
will twist my tongue and rape my spouse.

So we’ll set them free in poverty
and give them life death agony.

Author notes

Soon a fence will go up in my area dividing Mexico from America, a fence touted as needed to protect us from terrorists many here along the border don’t view it that way. We want true security more border patrols and a virtual fence. Many of us view the fence as an attack on our individuality, and as a waste of money to appease those that are afraid that a forgien culture will take over the American culture whatever that is.

    I like the general approach made esp the first stanza. I like the message and see how it dishearten citizens and non citizen.
