In-telly-gent Me

I'm tired; my arms
droop like half-eaten bananas --

like the ape with the name,

In-telly-gence.

My eyes mist, and jello too --
for specs at home I have forgot;
now unable to see, driven
to brink of in-telly-gen-cee.

Struggling from class to class
with legs that quiver and shake;
in different directions they stagger,

so un-in-telly-gently.

This day will tap my blood,
before I'll be able to manoeuvre

myself with sweat and guts
onto car's seat, half in-telly-gently.

Too tired to reheat coffee;
to become enthused by
cookies so cute--

I've just sufficient energy

to type this 'telly-gently.

There must be more to life
than work, or to think how
one can write words in
straight stripe, elly-gently.

Bright and breezy tomorrow
I'll be, as there's nothing like
whiskey and a good night's sleep,
to reconstruct, an intellegent me!

Phew...

Intelligent!

    This gave me a smile. I can see how a good draught of whiskey and a goodnights sleep would do the trick. A nice bit of whimsey you've penned here my friend!!!

    Really quite creative the way you have penned this with intelligence. LOL. Liked the flow, and the cut way you have ended each verse with that word or modification there of. It is quite funny - well done.

    HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

    Sorry for this unasked for laugh, but I cannot help it: you just said my soul so cutely. But: forget the glasses. Life is less stark without them. I love to blur away realities.

    I simply LOVED this poem. It is so vivid and descriptive, written with an almost don't care attitude and yet: the words fell into exactly the right places, intelligently marching down the page ... and I accompanied them in giggles and smiles.

    You should write more of these!
