Sandman drown me in the throes of slumber,
For the waking world takes too much from
Me, and I asked the gods if they exist, to
Release me from this vicious circle, I die,
And live, live and die, reborn again, again,
Into this frozen world, merciless, my only
Exit lies in the realms of sleep, I couldn't
Stop my eyes from shattering the flimsy threads
That held me in that realm, harsh sunlight,
Bitter herald, why won't you let me rest,
Leave to find my peace, they say sleep is
Cousin to death, then I lie between their
Borders, but find sleep more comforting,
Death I've known, only to be brought back to
This, life, struggle, and misery, what gods
Are these that tempt me with release, then steal
It once again? Fickle are the fates, that cursed
Me with this immortality, fickle, and where
Lie those Elysian Fields? A land for restless
Dead, a gift to the fate departed, where lie
They? And why deny me? I've met Death, and called
Coward, stand your ground, take me under,
Only to watch him leave, to flicker and be
Done, once more alone, once more with life,
And the flimsy threads of slumber.

Sorry that you are so sad. Enjoy life more it doesn't have to be all depressing. Smile every once in a while. Good poem but very sad.
