Evening Adventures

These woods grow dark and dreary,
the night is becoming eerie.
Jack O Lanterns' leering grin
casts a spooky glow along the fence row.

Sidewalks full of costumed goblins
and shrieks of frightful delight.
An evil cackle fills the air,
trailed by startled cries
then followed by nervous giggles.

Younger kids glancing back
rush past, followed by,
a gaggle of teenagers...

"Do the haunts still follow?"
The mask slips off as
a pair of hands reach out...
to caress a frightened face.

Happy Halloween!!!

This was a great Halloween poem, scary stuff for little children and yet exciting. Lovely begining.
