Autumnes bliss

As God lay his paintbrush
Upon our lovely land.
He added a splash of gold
To help fall stand.
In gentle kisses he added
Yellow and brown,
Those little whisper
that winter is coming around.

The squirrels are gathering
their winter nuts,
Packing them in
just enough.
As the animals fur
Thickens with haste,
last chance to prepare
For winter is on its way.

The air takes on a crisp new feel,
Mornings fog draping over the fields.
Turning the sun to a dull hew,
Bidding the summer days adeue.

The bright blue skies turn into a golden ray,
The night is colder winter is on it's way.
Birds softly sing their Autumne song,
Down the sidewalk the leaves roll along.
Fall is here winter is near,
It's time to get ready for cheer.

    Amber,
WOW! A beautifully written poem. This reminds me of one I wrote called 'nature's Paintbrush'. Tennessee has to be a beautiful place in the fall. I have been there but it was in the months of July and August. I had a blast though! The Smokies is where I stayed. Beautiful place. Heaven on earth!
Now back to the poem at hand. As I said beautifully written, I love the flow! Well crafted by a poet who can and will go far. Just keep the ink flowing!
