The sunlight streaks through my blinds
Awaking me
And I welcome the glorious new day
Pushing my covers aside in heaps
I tiptoe down the creaky stairs.
I feel the heat coming from the pan
That is making me breakfast
Mmmmmm, french toast
Mom and I gobble down
The scrumptious meal.
Then we get dressed and ready
And hop in the car
We go to the mall
And laugh at the high prices
Just looking,
Not buying anything.
Then we go to a state park
And rent a double kayak
Paddle
Paddle
Paddle
Getting wet and muddy
And not caring at all.
And we go for a hike
Mom is slow
But I don't mind
Our legs get sore
The brilliant sun hides behind the lake
Turning the clear blue sky
To burnt orange and pink
We drive home.
On the way home we buy sushi
And carrot cake
To eat once we get home.
Mom and I scarf down the sushi
And begin on the carrot cake
That has delicious icing on top
But we don't eat the whole cake
To save some for tomorrow night.
And I plop onto my bed
Snuggle deeper into my covers
And prepare for another perfect day tomorrow.
