Behind you, next to you and in you

You can hear it in your mind
The screaming, the running, the whispering
With eyes wide open and yet you're blind.

You can feel it in your heart
Thudding against your chest
And it's the chainsaw that tears sleep and rest apart.

Its the glue that sticks your feet to the spot
The chilling wind against you skin
And the secret that makes your strength rot.

The ductape covering your lips
Supressing your life with a single jump
And it's the thing that makes your muscles rip.

You can't see it but it has a taste
The salty liquid streaming down your cheeks
With all your barriers broken in haste.

The shadow that turns the key in the lock
The images that makes your parents deaf to your call
Finally it closes the door to the box
In which your trapped, for what feels like forever more.

Author notes

Thats how I would describe fear.. I tried to make you feel trapped.. because thats what fear does.

Like another piece I read, You too found a very clever way around the rules by sighting examples and images of fear as a backdrop for the lines that teach fear to me as if I had never experienced that emotion before. How to recognize fear, the feeling. Like in the stanza
" The ductape covering your lips
Suppressing your life with a single jump
And it's the thing that makes your muscles rip."
The symbolic "ductape". This is just one example of many in this piece.
    Well done.
Thank you for entering my contest and I wish you the best of luck
