O' woe to us Polonium

Missing image

O' woe to us Polonium

When mixed with Beryllium,

More deadly far than Gonium

Causing such pandemonium.

And then we have Plutonium

Just search the web to get him some

But you might need some Valium

When everything is said and done.

Of course you could try Protium,

Take note, you are aerobium:

Yawning at this exordium

Just proves that some are really dumb.

I must book a colloquium

To learn about Promethium,

I've prayed in the Erechtheum

Which caused the next diluvium,

That drowned me in delirium.

So, to save my equiblibrium

I'll study the Chrysanthemum.

Author notes

Frotting or frottage- the technique of creating a design by rubbing (as with a pencil) over an object placed under the paper . Or, Act of rubbing the body of another person, as in a crowd to attain sexual gratification.

Not to my taste I'm afraid nuclear weapons were much maligned and derided during the lat sixties early seventies but without them it is doubtful if we would be here today to have this discussion.

This is really funny, but some sentences sound very off like the 4th stanza's last sentence. It doesn't rhyme.

This is excellent! Your rhyming is fantastic, and I love the humor in this piece... especially in the last two lines... You are using words I have never heard of before in a way that makes one think you are using them in your everyday language...

I was thinking of Polonium as well when I first saw the contest, by the way.

    Thanks for sharing this!
    Keep up the wonderful work!

er... That was interesting! Ha! Ho did you pull off all those rhymes? Great job. I really got a kick out of this one. I think I'll go study horticulture, too, to avoid thinking on all these elements and all the chaos and destruction they could cause! ack!
