Instead

The pouring rain
and its boundless torrents
called out to entice me
to dance with the gales
and in slumber take
my heart to its
fantasies

But as I reached to heaven
to seek a dream
I found not a star in sight
nor an angel in the eve’s nocturnal song
to lull a lullaby
Yet in sweet surprise, fate has instead
made my fondest wish
come true;
And ‘tis not might nor pride,
nor endless age…
but your heart
your love
and you.

In the past I was used to read some different poetry on your site, but like each poet you are growing, changing it and making nice some different way. Great. And a small advice - next time take much more care about your poetry, ooops, be patient during the class

Say you will never cut off your love kick, young man!
A teacher just knows when she reads words of gold...and your words gleem for all to see.
What a delight to find your page.

Cutting off love is like cutting off truth, and peace, and joy.
This is a grand little epic, said in ways defying cliche, which is always a challenge in poetry. "Love-ly" stuff here.

How wonderful...marvelous...your teacher recognized are and returned it!

I agree with Lady Lavender. This is classic poetry. Inspired when it chooses to be inspired.

    Ovations!

    I believe she knew
    she was holding
    art in her hands
