In the flickering light of candle's glow
I wait with eager trembling
my heart is torn in two
one half you carry in your hand
the other waits here faithfully for you
my breath escapes in gentle sighs
as the lonely months slowly pass
thoughts of you bring waves of longing
aching for your sweet caress and
the soft kisses we used to share
whispered words of love to thrill me
you set my soul alight with burning passion
come to me, my love, my only love
to loving arms that wait patiently
while aching lips utter a prayer
for you to come home to me
and make me whole again
