Love is...
puddle jumping in yellow rain boots,
hand in hand while the rain,
falls around us to the sidewalk,
but we don’t feel wet
Love is…
knocking on the door at midnight,
the third time after a date,
just to say hello again,
because goodbyes are so bitter.
Love is…
messy hair after pillow talk,
laughing kisses as sunlight pours-
through the open French doors,
speckling your skin.
Love is…
learning when to let go,
while treating his fragile heart,
like the wings of a butterfly-
fragile and breakable.
