They come, you know, in felt brush on hair of neck, on arm,
slight pressure on breast at night, curl of arm
between stone and bent back head. They come, you know,
to peer at our weeping, anxious that we know comfort;
sometimes at the expense of walking our lost one on path,
up and away from earthly bindings.
They come, I know, to take our hand, to brush a tear
and taste it, to see if they remember life’s amniotic
angst. They do want to dance, but we bother them so
with our constant mewling for our lives to be more spiritual
while dragging theirs down to our level instead of us to theirs.
We interpret those crossed boundaries with talk of angels,
with enhanced photographs and bleeding statues rather than just feel
them love us, one kiss on cheek after another. They know. Just be loved.

ty Errant Panther, for the comment and for the gold. I saw no feathers... I have been counseled to be very careful not to disturb those guardians that have work to do, nor to bother my beloveds as they deal with antoher plane. It is difficult to do for I mourn such earthbound mourning.

Yes, they're here and what would we do without them? As always your eyes are wide open like a childs. A beautiful poem to contemplate.
