The Death of Dreams

Time has taken my dreams away
Stored in the attic,
Behind the stack of albums
That has defined my life.

A life time of family photographs
Led me here like a whirlwind,
No time to catch my breath
On my path to no return.

What could of, what should of
Now surrounds me,
On my second jouney
Of familar motions, repetitive days.

The slower pace of my life
Has given me time,
To grieve
The loss of my dreams.

A heartfelt piece. I like the last stanza where the slower pace of life kind of gives you permission to grieve.

Overall, I like this moving piece. Keep on writing.
