They came to give him a rest
twelve men in black suits
to take him to give him a rest
to be buried in his best
words can't say what the heart feels
how much pain can it take before it breaks?
what about the happiness we will miss
he brought it with him, coming thru the door
tears won't water the flowers he planted
and sunrise will be late
for it to slows, to say good by
it will not shine as bright
upon a stone, bearing his name
the word loved will be etched
and in our hearts, a hole grows
larger

Very touching work.
Sad, emotional work here. Quite moving to read something like this. Thanks for bringing this poem to the site.

what a saaly beautiful poem full of love, dedication and loss. it's never easy losing someone we love. just try to think of it this way, you haven't lost a loved one, heaven had gained an angel
and that angel will over you and guide your steps
good luck in the contest and sorry for your loss
be well and be blessed

wow this was really beautiful, i could really feel the emotion and the sorrow and almost the confusion that comes when a loved one passes away. this is something i know too well. the feelings are so real to me i block them out anymore.
