A hundred faces on the wall
A hundred faces against the shadows of my mind
A hundred faces staring at me
And every single one is mine
All the faces crushing me
Their looks declare my lies
Every being speaks of what I've done
And of how they've come alive
What started out as whispers
What began in me as a thought
Is taking over my existence
Becoming the very soul I've lost
A hundred faces on the wall
A hundred faces against the shadows of my mind
A hundred faces staring at me
And every single one is mine
I'm just one, of a hundred
One single face in the crowd
The only cry of salvation
Tossed into this pool of doubt
I'm fading into the faces
Losing the last of my hold
What I thought I had is taken
And what I've taken, took control
A hundred faces on the wall
A hundred faces against the shadows of my mind
A hundred faces staring at me
And I no longer know which is mine
A hundred faces against the shadows of my mind
A hundred faces staring at me
And every single one is mine
All the faces crushing me
Their looks declare my lies
Every being speaks of what I've done
And of how they've come alive
What started out as whispers
What began in me as a thought
Is taking over my existence
Becoming the very soul I've lost
A hundred faces on the wall
A hundred faces against the shadows of my mind
A hundred faces staring at me
And every single one is mine
I'm just one, of a hundred
One single face in the crowd
The only cry of salvation
Tossed into this pool of doubt
I'm fading into the faces
Losing the last of my hold
What I thought I had is taken
And what I've taken, took control
A hundred faces on the wall
A hundred faces against the shadows of my mind
A hundred faces staring at me
And I no longer know which is mine

"Defy yourself, look inside" - unknown
Who's the real you? Who's the person your friends know? Parents? Coworkers? In the midst of it all... when do you get a chance to be real?
Thoughts from a youth group meeting that struck a chord with me some years ago... hope it meant something to you, also.
