Cleaver distractions of dazzling array
Mollify the mind, while provoking a base
Response from the corporal flesh at play.
Like an intricate inveigling or disgrace,
disparages and defiles the illusion of truth,
So does the intellect, when diverted by embrace
Of ecstatic bliss. Beside ourselves we stand aloof
Forsaking reason's dull unfulfilled certainty
To marvel at the miraculous mystery and daring of youth.
Please tell me what you think

This is a Sicilian tercet, is it not? I've tried the form once myself a while back and found it quite enjoyable. Your poem brings to mind common questions of mankind: follow the heart, or follow the head? One is definitely more fun, albeit more risky. Thought provoking (again!
) and skillfully written!
