Echos

Laughter of children
filled the tiny schoolhouse
from sunrise to sunset

Now those sounds echo
like tormented, ghostly cries
in a sad, war-ridden land

For such a short piece this one is beautifully reflective. I can feel the macabre feel of the schoolhouse; how war does damage us. It reminds me of what may've been written about the first world war, when bombs were thrown on innocent people, or even the second world war. Great write, very emotive. I enjoyed this read, it made me want to cry a bit.

OH, how terribly true this poem might be, in a warn-torn land. Beautifully written, Chelsea!
