I hail from the shadows
But speak of the light
Morbid the forces
Hosting my night

My pen runs before me
Blazing my trail
I follow behind it
Escaping my hell

Simply put, I write simple fare

For breakfast, lunch and dinner

Overlap and indulge my desires

Carefree now, but make me love a plenty

Ask the questions others won't

Sense the need in me and respond in spades

Grab a plane, take me up much higher

Turkeys for Thanksgiving
Tea for two

Caught In The In-Betweens

Made it out the house fine
But, quickly discover
That your car's been towed

There you are - caught

Traveling from point A
To point C
But while at point B
Car broke down

There you are - stranded

Married your school sweetheart
Discovered his mistress

There you are trapped
One job ends
Oh, joy another one

Rats

Parents squabbling
Heroine to the rescue
Didn't go over well

Capturing a blow meant for another

Enjoying a great exciting book
Halfway through
Most exciting part
Company

Not now, please, oh please

Multi-millions on the line
Got five of the required numbers
Couldn't materialize the sixth

Crying in my beer!

The Day I Lost Myself

I took myself out for holiday
Just to relax it and have a spot of fun
We arrived safely and all members were accounted for and intact

So the evening progressed without undue repercussions
All was going smoothly I thought
Didn't know that beneath the surface trouble was brewing

Sitting back with the folks that I hadn't seen in a while
Out of town, so kind of like a mini-macro vacation, you know
Nothing too heavy or sad, just a barbecue, drink or two, etc

Well all as I said seemed to be going well
And then apparently that's when it happened
Yes, I had the misfortune of losing myself

No, no alarm went off at its onset
Just a misfire of directions
I must have told myself..."excuse me"

And myself must have said ..."will you be long?"
and somewhere along the separation of my self
I lost one of my-selves hahaha

No worries, though, we later connected
Back in our hometown later that night hahaha
Only problem being is that we couldn't talk about it

...well, we couldn't talk about it, because one of us
apparently forgot the whole experience. hahaha
So the moral of the story is...hahaha...keep yourself in check!
