My heart,
It's in my hands...
Not all of it is yet whole.
But it is there...
Pulsing and bleeding...
Wanting and needing...
Longing for you...
Screaming out in terror...
Craving the love it once knew.
But now it's hiding in the shadows.
Awaiting the warmth your love brought.
The pieces are still missing...
And there's holes all over it...
Blood drips to the floor..
And runs silkily down my fingers...
The pain of it bites,
And rips at my soul.
My fingers tremble...
And I'm afraid i'll drop it...
Only to have it shatter once more.
I don't think,
I'll be able to fix it again...
If it breaks into a million tiny pieces..
I won't survive the pain...
Just as I'm not surviving the loss of you...
Slowly,
I'm dieing...
From the inside out...
My heart is weakening...
My soul is dimming..
My eyes are faltering...
And I can no longer hear your words...
Fear paralyzes me...
Leaves me standing here in the cold...
Nightmares of you...
As my heart bleeds out.

This one is about the fear of him never returning...it's been 5 long excruciating years since i've seen him last...and god only knows when I'll see him again...and now that he's in the Air force...that could turn out to be never

This is amazing. Very powerful emotion expressed and it made me think of a broken heart. It also makes me think of how in life we might be afraid to fall in love because we may fear that love may not work out and then we might end up getting hurt. I love the background you chose for this piece. Fantastic write.

from reading these words, i saw pain, and it reminded me of a simularty to my world, all except the love part, there isnt any in my world.
These words dripped with tears, and i dont mean the red kind, warm salty clear kind, and i see someone on thier knee's cradleling something not quite visble other then the blood as it drops between shaking slightly shaking hands and fingers, as if its to say my love sits within my hands, and with each beat a piece dwindles between the cracks.
Beautifully written very emotional and painting a very intense picture, if this is about you, then i can only hope you eventually find some semblance of peace, to heal and move on, if not then you write with such a deep intensity, it liturally draws the reader into the poem.

thanks babe....it's been the hardest thing to do in my enitre life. He may be leaving for basic at the end of this month...and he might ...just might...be able to come home finally for a bit of leave after basic...but it's up in the air...but five years has felt like a lifetime!!! And only this kind of thing can come from the core...I just wish it was over...lol..thanky ou so uch babe for the heart felt comments....your a sweetheart!!
