Time snarls panacea flights,
utopia bleeds in the spine's of seconds.
Dawn brings promissory luminous jewels
while painting macabre shades of grim reaper ecstasy.
Caffeine and sugar injections
affix their opiate delusion
that mortality is myth
and cemeteries merely mirages.
Cacophony clashes in cerebral stains
each hour's hands slicing
a razor's edge reality into one's Oz.
Looking for rainbows while lusting for pots of gold,
punching a time clock,
revere pricks stab for sunrises
without sunsets.

Today I lived this with a friend how well you displayed the day. How little they see the sunrise. The night they long for kills another day. Thank you for sharing - best of luck in the contest.
