It's not that hard to do the right thing,
at the end of the day,
aren't we all the same?
The old woman who sits by herself,
haunted by memories,
arhtritis swelling her hands,
making it difficult to stand,
it's not that hard to stop
do the right thing,
give her a helping hand.
So why is it that so
many people pass
pretending to ignore her silent
plea for just a little help?
I stop and I say hello,
give her a simple smile
and a hand,
and you would have thought
I'd just handed her
the million dollar lottery
so I ask you this:
has the simplicity of caring
suddenly ran its course
in this lifetime?
