Who wants to be a millionaire,
young, rich and debonair?
Me, that's who!
I'm telling you,
I want to be covered from head to groin
in banknotes, shekels, dollars, coin.
Buckets of money, vaults of gold;
platinum, diamonds, wealth untold.
Hand-rolled cigars,
movie stars,
cashmere wool and suits of silk
(all that honey and all that milk!)
Money, they say, can't buy you health,
but, who cares, if you've got wealth.
I'd rather be ill in luxury
than sick and living in penury!

A Weatlth of Thought
... about money! A good poem shared on the subject as we all think about it all the time. joy

Humorous! "Show me the money!"

This was amusing.. I have to say those who say, money doesn't buy happiness are very wrong. While I do believe in some cases that's true. But for a person who has a family and friends to share his wealth with, who has never been given a break in his life... you can't tell me that a chance at a million dollars wouldn't make them happy you know??

Thanks, Tarja, for your kind comment. I'm pleased you like my not-so-serious poem, but you make a serious point in saying that money can sure make a difference in people's lives, especially to those who've known poverty and hardship.
