Blame it on the moon

See that moon,
the one with the halo
that matches yours?

Yes, that's the one,
the one that cries your name
and beckons me to hear it.

Suddenly tonight,
the stars follow it
as if they hear it also,
the echo of you
which perfection surrounds.

It is said there is only
one great love in one's life,
and for mine,
that should be you.

What a beautiful poem and I the love it conveys. Finding one's soul mate brings magic into ones life. My daughter and her husband are true soul mates and the magic that surrounds them can be seen in the light show that goes off when they are together and thoughts of the heart communicated with a look . A blessing found but by a few. Peace and Light skye01

I really love the simplicity of this, and especially the last stanza that sums everything up so well. It's even a little ironic for me to read this, because my friends always used to joke that I had a halo...but that it balanced on top of my horns. I also loved the way you wrote this in a way that anyone can put themselves on the receiving end of it, even though it's (hopefully) written for that special someone in your life.

Thank you for your entry, and good luck in the contest!

Thank you, my Sweet. Yes, always for my husband, but for this time and until after the contest, this is for a special lady--the hostess.

of course I love anything that would have to do with the moon and stars etc, but you were able to paint a picture of a beautiful celestial event [stars following the whispering moon] and that visual alone is worthy of a big smile [as are those tender words of yours]
    much love always
