Bad Canyon Diablo

Bad Canyon Diablo, out in the wild Arizonia,
It’s a place that I know, where I happen to go to once in awhile.
And it’s not out of duty; I’m in love with her beauty,
But her Turquoise and Gold, they can still make me smile.
You can still hear the wolf howl, ooh, and the hoot of the night owl,
And the stars in the sky, they are the lights in her beautiful eyes.
Wild woman of the Mogollons, oh, she can sure make the wind moan,
Though she don’t share her secrets, she’ll tell you no lies.

You can die from a snake bite, if the snake don’t the Gila might,
And a Scorpion sting is such a small thing till it leaves you to die.
The sun burns in hot weather; it can turn you to leather,
You can drown in a flash, though the streambeds are dry.

Arizona ain’t tame yet, no she ain’t hardly been tried yet,
So you’d best heed this warning: If you ain’t ready; Don’t ride.
For the gun hasn't tamed her, and none who have gone there have blamed her,
If her weapons are deadly, and she don’t run and hide.
Some came to Ramble, some to adventure and gamble,
Some came for fortune and fame, but they all came to die.
Many stories are told, of the Bravo’s so bold,
But they all left their bones, ‘neath the wide open sky.

Bad Canyon Diablo, out in the wild Arizonia,
It’s a place that I know, where I happen to go to once in awhile.
I don't go out of duty; I’m in love with her ethereal beauty,
And the Turquoise and Gold can still make me smile.
You can still hear the wolf howl, and the hoot of the night owl,
And the stars in the sky, they are the lights in her beautiful eyes.
Wild woman of the Mogollons, she can sure make the wind moan,
Though she don’t share her secrets, she’ll tell you no lies.

There is death in her history, but it deepens her eternal mystery.
And the Bravos who go, know they’re in for a fight.
And they still seek Adams gold, out in the wild Arizonia.
And at Apache Junction, the Dutchman still walks the night
