Hollow footprints in the sand
leading off to no man's land
I follow them forever it seems
I finally get to where they lead.
Not knowing where I was
I followed those footprints
They brought me here
I see you standing very near.
Holding your arms out
your welcoming me
I am still confused
of where I may be.
Finally I come to understand
I am not in no man's land
"Welcome Home" you say to me
"I saw your pain, and set you free"
I went to sleep and thought I dreamed
of those footprints and where they leed
I followed them and came upon
this beautiful man, with hair so long.
I am home, I made it here
He welcomed me and cried a tear
"Welcome Home" he said again
I smiled at him and said "Amen"
leading off to no man's land
I follow them forever it seems
I finally get to where they lead.
Not knowing where I was
I followed those footprints
They brought me here
I see you standing very near.
Holding your arms out
your welcoming me
I am still confused
of where I may be.
Finally I come to understand
I am not in no man's land
"Welcome Home" you say to me
"I saw your pain, and set you free"
I went to sleep and thought I dreamed
of those footprints and where they leed
I followed them and came upon
this beautiful man, with hair so long.
I am home, I made it here
He welcomed me and cried a tear
"Welcome Home" he said again
I smiled at him and said "Amen"

very nice
this shows how vulnerable you are and that you are willing to let readers truly get a glimpse of all of you. this is a pure and honest write, flowing gracefully and the tone is perfect for it throughout. good luck in your contest, regardless this was exceptional.
